Low-voltage cable selection criteria
To ensure the selection of a suitable cable, quality, the buyer needs to pay attention to the following two main factors:
– Rated current: The maximum current strength that allows the wire to operate stably; if this value is exceeded, the current flowing in the cable conductor will cause the cable to heat up due to heat generation. The larger conductor cross-section is, the higher the rated current is allowed, therefore, it is necessary to select a cable with conductor cross-section that is suitable to the rated current.
– Độ sụt áp: Pressure drop: When choosing the level of pressure, pay special attention to the pressure drop due to power-loss in the cable. The voltage drop depends on the load current, cable length, power factor, cable resistance, cable reactance.
There are also other factors such as short-circuit current, installation method, ambient temperature, or soil temperature.
